This Weekend with Colter in Paradise Valley and the Boulder River Valley

This is from last weekend, along Mill Creek in Paradise Valley.
It was our combination Father's Day/early Birthday trip since I had
him during an "odd" weekend. We spent three hours in the pool at Chico
that evening. What a great weekend with my little camper.
His birthday is this week, and I got him his very own convertable
pants and a new sleeping bag. I'm hoping to take him to Glacier later
this year and into Waterton, so he can say he's been to Alberta before
Loretta. (I keed, honey).
The other pics are from along the Boulder River south of Big
Timber. The water shooting out is a channel cut throught the limestone
in the Boulder. When the water is running high, it goes over the top.
When it slows down, it goes through the channels cut beneath the
ground into the limestone.
The last picture is from the bank of the Boulder, just above the
"dry" part of the waterfall. Who knew CACTUS grew in the mountains of
Montana?!

I just met Bill Pullman

All the years I've lived in the Gallatin Valley, I've only met or seen one famous person, and believe me, they're here. Dave & Dean have golfed with Morgan Freeman and Charlie Daniels, to name a couple. Tom Cruise was downtown a few years ago at a new Mexican restaurant. Michael Keaton shows up regularly. Still have never run into anyone at the Chico Saloon. However, I was working the board for Dave & Dean's show a few years back when Rich Hall came in to talk about his new play and got to meet him.
But today, I got to meet a bonafide movie star. Bill Pullman came in to record some things for friends of his. I was supposed to be behind the board recording him, but had to pass the job along as I was knee-deep into being the station geek and fixing someone's computer. I got to chat with him a bit afterward about a mutual friend we have (honest!) and got my picture taken as well.
Incredibly nice fella and a pleasure to talk with. Plus, I got proof that I met him!
